New Year’s Eve is here once again, and it’s also the end of my first full year of blogging!
Here are the five most popular recipes from 2011:
This was my most popular post of 2011 by a mile, and it doesn’t surprise me in the least. Tea biscuits are the ultimate comfort food and are mouthwatering at any time of day – for breakfast, with a bowl of soup, or as a midnight snack. I have yet to come across a better tea biscuit recipe (they were also gobbled up at a recent book club meeting!)
There’s no doubt this soup recipe is fantastic. Also, it seems the world is a tad obsessed with sweet potatos and roasted red peppers (not necessarily paired together, though). It’s also really easy, which is another reason why I think it was so popular. Hint: use your food processor!
Another no-brainer. This soup is not only bright and cheery, but has texture and fills you up. I still can’t get over how popular soups are in the food blogging world. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – whenever I blog about soups, I get twice as many hits as any other day. Note to self: blog about more soups in 2012…
Okay, I’ll admit it – this one surprised me. The dip was a challenge to make and I wasn’t totally sold. The flavour was excellent, but the texture was… different. Even so, it was devoured just as quickly by my book club as it was by the blogosphere! Maybe they know something I don’t?
This one-pot wonder is something I need to make again in the near future. I’d almost forgotten about how incredible it was! This will certainly warm up the dreary January days ahead.
That’s a wrap, folks! My first full year as a food blogger. I think it went pretty well, but I’m going to try to be more adventurous in 2012 and create some of my own original recipes. Stay tuned and Happy New Year!
