Julia’s Five Most Popular Recipes in 2012

By Wednesday, January 2, 2013

Wow… another year has come and gone. I feel great having completed my second successful year of blogging.

But this post goes out to all my supporters and readers. As my blog continues grow and grow, I have no one to thank but you guys!

So, here you have it – my blog’s five most popular recipes… chosen by YOU, of course!

1. What to do with ruined chocolate chip cookies

I guess this is a common problem, because it was my most popular post in 2012! Who knew? This is an excellent alternative for overcooked cookies, stale cookies or broken cookies, but these chocolates are so good you could make them with fresh (or, heaven forbid, store-bought) cookies too!

2. Healthy carrot & flax muffins

This recipe will never get old. I wish I had one of these muffins every morning! I know some readers have tried this recipe and loved it just as much. This year I plan on finding an alternative to the oil – applesauce, perhaps?

3. Orange chipotle shrimp pasta

How can I disagree with this? Not only was it The Domestic Blonde’s third most popular recipe in 2012, but it’s one of my favourites too. It’s low-calorie, easy and full of heat. Love it!

4. Christmas wreath appetizer

It’s totally crazy that this recipe, posted in December, beat out recipes that have been on the blog all year long! Obviously it was a huge hit (and a visual treat) for people looking for Christmas party ideas. Make sure to pin this one on Pinterest for next year! And by the way… it tastes as good as it looks!

5. Mama’s blueberry buckle

Aww… I’m so happy my readers loved this one as much as I do! Now a family classic, I cannot tell you how many times I’ve passed on this recipe, and everyone who makes it says it’s flawless. Even dessert-haters go nuts over it! If you haven’t tried it, please do and let me know how it goes.

And that’s it – the five most popular recipes on The Domestic Blonde in 2012. Some of these were really surprising, but others I expected. It’s always fun to look back at another year and see what my readers are loving. Stay tuned for some extra blogging this week including my 10 favourite recipes from 2012 and much more!
