My Favourite Dips

By Tuesday, January 8, 2013

It’s probably a bad idea to blog about dips, especially since one of my new year’s resolutions is to stop buying chips, but I really can’t resist. While going over my most popular and favourite recipes from 2012, I was reminded of last winter’s “search for the perfect dip”.

I looked high and low, tested countless recipes and had a few failures. But in the end, I came out with four dips I just can’t get enough of.

  1. Buffalo chicken dip – One of my favourite recipes in 2012 and my go-to dip. Not okay for vegetarians, obviously.
  2. Jalapeno popper dip – Just as good as the real thing! A crowd-pleasing favourite at any party.
  3. Skinny white pizza dip – My attempt at a less calorie-ridden dip. It’s probably still terrible for you but it tastes too good for me to care.
  4. Pizza dip – The original and classic dip that never gets old. Feel free to add things – meat, veggies… whatever!

What’s your favourite dip?

Well I know the perfect answer for no chips! Try pita or mountain bread, any really thin bread and brush with olive oil then sprinkle with herbs or spices of your choice and heat in the oven or under the grill and break into pieces. It’s as perfect accompaniment to dips.

Thanks Auntie Wen! That’s a really good idea and much healthier than chips! xo
