Over a cup of tea…

By Monday, February 8, 2016

If we were chatting over a cup of tea, I’d be telling you (again) about my favourite beauty products lately! It’s been 7 weeks since I last rambled about this stuff, and I’ve been holding off talking about a few things especially for today!

Over a cup of tea

First on the list is, definitely, my new Morphe brushes. I learned about them from Jaclyn Hill, and bought a couple to try them out and loved them. In fact, I liked them so much that I bought eight more just before Christmas! My very favourites are my three eyeshadow brushes – M441, M433 and E22 . I feel like they make such a difference in my eyeshadow application! Before buying my Morphe brushes, I had a mix of old Quo brushes, BabyBliss brushes (from junior high – ugh) and a couple decent single ones I had randomly acquired. I’ve got my eye on a few more from Morphe (mainly a bronzer brush), but for now, I’m well-stocked.

Next on the list is absolutely my new Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette. Oh my goodness, it is so hard for me to adequately express my love for this palette. I got a Sephora gift card for Christmas, and immediately bought the Naked Basics 2 palette, but after trying it out a few times, I decided I didn’t like it – the colours were cold and muddy on me, or at least I thought that’s how they looked. Anyway, I was looking for matte colours, so I read about the Tarte palette and bought it. I’m so glad I did! There are so many options (creams, pinks, browns, purples) and the shadows are soo pigmented. Best purchase ever!

We definitely have to talk about anything in the L’Occitane Almond line. I have the shower oil, hand cream, soap, milk lotion and, best of all, the supple skin oil (which I’ve been rubbing all over my belly every night). The smell! I adore it. This stuff is expensive, but my favourite luxury products right now.

Sooo since I became VIB Rouge last year, I got a little gift – NARS blush in Goulue. I was sceptical because it looked so purple, but I LOVE it. I also love how Sephora always seems to hit it out of the park with their freebees. Anyway, this blush shade is so nice for winter and I often pair it with a dark mauve lip. Love!

La Roche-Posay Rosaliac Moisturizer. I really love this brand, but this is my first time using one of their moisturizers! I bought it by accident when trying to find a product for My Other Half, and now I’m using it daily. It makes my face feel so soft! What a different a high-quality moisturizer makes. It’s meant for anti-redness, which I don’t really have an issue with, but I love how it makes my skin feel so much I’m using it anyway.

These Tweezerman tweezers! I have gone through so many tweezers in my life, and these are definitely the best for precision and getting even the tiniest and finest of hairs. They’re a bit pricey for tweezers (in my opinion), but worth the investment. Since my hairs are blonde, I often have a hard time getting at then, and these makes it way easier.

Clean & Clear Soothing Eye Makeup Remover. I went on a hunt late last year for the best possible eye makeup remover, and tried a few different brands before coming back to this one – the one I used all through high school. You can get it at any drug store, grocery store, or Walmart. Honestly, nothing even comes close to this for me! I want an eye makeup remover that takes everything off with a single swipe, and this does just that. At such an inexpensive price point, who needs high-end ones?! Bonus – it’s oil-free!

So the greatest nail discovery of late is definitely Essie Good To Go. I typically paint my nails just before bed, so a quick-dry top coat is essential before turning out the lights. I’d been using Seche Vite for a while, but found my nails chipped too easily. With Good To Go, it lasts as long as my favourite top coats, CND Super Shiny or Essie Second Shine Around.

My new Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments are a total game changer. I got honey, rose and nude for Christmas and can’t get enough. Rose is my favourite for day-to-day, but I’ve received some compliments on both honey and nude. I really want the clear one now!

Last but not least, I’ve got to mention the Anastasia Brow Whiz in Caramel. I am really not sure how anyone ever did their brows before Anastasia came along! It seems like every single beauty blogger uses this exactly product to do their brows. Her brow pencils are pure greatness and make it so easy for anyone to fill in their brows (although I am admittedly no expert in doing my own). Most days I am just using Benefit Gimme Brow, but for days that call for a little extra effort, I always use my Brow Whiz. And I hear Anastasis just came out with an even better brown pencil?! Not possible… but I will have to try it.

That’s it for this edition… but tell me, what products are you loving lately?!
